Summertime in the Savoie Alps, in the small valley separating Les Arcs from La Plagne. A typical Savoyard farmhouse, with its back to the slopes protected from avalanche by a high mound of rocks and earth, overgrown with vegetation over the centuries...

One of my own favorites from Paris. Winter, 2005. (Sorry, I know it's a bit cliché :-p)

I honestly don't remember. I think it was early afternoon but it was snowing, which is why it might seem like it was later in the day or evening.

A few years ago now... summertime in Vaison la Romaine, near the Mont Ventoux in the Vaucluse

Three 'melons de Cavaillon' for a euro, the year after the new currency was introduced? They'll cost a fair bit more this summer I reckon...

Monsieur Smith - do you live close to this lake? I read that the deep blue on a clear day is partly down to the altitude (just under 1200m)... and that there is a constant danger of gaseous eruption, because of the concentration of methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide in its depths (over 90 metres).
