Question Cost of French driving licence

I recently had my UK driving licence stolen and need to replace it with a French driving licence. I've filled in the form, got the identity photos etc. but I need to know exactly what the fee is before sending off my request for a replacement.
Can anyone help?
Cheers

Normally, there isn't any fee for exchanging one EU driving license for another. There is also no fee if you report your French license lost or stolen and apply for a replacement.

What I'm not so sure of is if you can report your UK license stolen and then get it replaced with a French one. When replacing a French license that was stolen, you have to get a form from the police verifying that you reported the theft. If that's the form you've filled out, just send it in with your photos and see how they react. Or, if you're unsure, take your papers in to the local préfecture to see how they want to handle things.
Cheers,
Bev

I doubt that very much - and considering how there are subtle differences in UK licence entitlements to froggy ones it would be very much in chouettes interests to get a new UK one to swap as an intermediate step.

I definitely agree that would be the preferred way to proceed. ("Never confuse a French bureaucrat." Words to live by!)
