Hello!
Thanks for you offer of help, you must be inundated with requests. I am moving to Lyon from the US in summer'09 (though I'm originally from the UK) I hope you won't hold that against me
I'm hoping to secure work at a private language school in the center an will be looking for an apartment to rent, not necessarily in the center, don't mind a commute in....would 500 - 600 euros be a realistic rent to pay? and can i stay in touch to pester you again..)

many thanks

andrea

Nickolaus - You will need to provide us with a few more details to get any useful help. i.e. What specifically do you want info about?

Andrea - We didn't find the 'agents d'immobililer' very helpful until were we here in person, but you can take a look at what is available at Immobilier et annonces immobilières | 1er site immobilier français.
Public transit here is great - clean, rapid and serves the city well. Get a great map at http://www.tcl.fr/index.asp?page=plan_reseau - the tram lines and the C# lines have dedicated lanes and run almost as fast as a metro.

Best, Siara

Hi! I'm an american expatriate and I thought a great way for all expatriates including yourself would be to come to this event for expatriates in Lyon and the Lyon area:

LYON à la CARTE is an international expatriate expo that will take place on Saturday, October 17th at the Hilton Cité internationale, Lyon FR. It offers a menu of things for you to choose from in the city and the Rhône-Alpes region so that you can live, work and feel at home no matter how long you’ve lived here.

LYON à la CARTE focuses on helping all cultures adapt to Lyon by providing essential information, showcasing area services, and creating an open and friendly social networking meeting place for people to exchange their experiences. Check out our 2009 sponsors and exhibitors at lyon a la carte's website. Most importantly, LYON à la CARTE is here to welcome you and make this great city more accessible.

Spread the word. It will be a great experience

Hi everyone! I think that it would be a great way to meet expatriates, share experiences, and get contacts to come to this event that Lyon a la Carte is holding on October 17.

Check out our *2009 sponsors and exhibitors at Lyon a la Carte's official website. Most importantly, LYON à la CARTE is here to welcome you and make this great city more accessible.

This is a great oppurtunity for expatriates from Lyon and regions around Lyon to get to know each other and help each while getting help from Lyon a la Carte as well. I think it will be a fun event so spread the word.
