Default Help Please!!! Ageing Newbie

Hi All,

I have lived part-time in France for the last 9 years and last April became an autoentrepreneur with a languages and music business. All going well. As a result of the business I have a carte vitale and contribute to a mutuelle as I should. I pay the requisute tax on my earnings monthly to URSAFF BUT I am now going to move to France permanently. I still do some freelance work in UK and have an employment pension paid into my UK account. What should I do about my UK tax situation? Do I pay tax in both countries? Do I have to contact someone about transferring my medical care to France? Surely I can't have medical aid in both countries? My husband is retiring in the UK in June and moving out too. Please help. I have sorted out the French side but am totally confused about what to do on the UK side.

Yes, you should transfer your medical coverage to France.

Take a look at this page on the Europa website: EUROPA – Healthcare in the European Union especially the links under "Moving to another EU country" for general information.
Cheers,
Bev
