Default Long term let required Charente region.

Hi!
My family and I are looking for a home to rent for a minimum of 6 months from April 2013 in the Charente region, with a rental charge of around 600-700 euros per month. We have three young children so would need a place that can comfortably sleep 5. Internet connection, large garden and parking would have to be a must and a good primary school. We have spent weeks trying to find somewhere so I hope someone can help! Many thanks! Sue.

Where have you been looking? I only ask because if you're only renting for 6 months or so, you're probably looking for a furnished rental - and that means a holiday home of some sort. The standard residential rental in France is unfurnished and comes with a 3 year lease (which you can break, with appropriate notice).

You've got a better chance of finding a holiday rental online. For the standard residential rental, you just about have to be on site and visit the properties in person. But coming from outside France it can be difficult to establish your credit worthiness.
Cheers,
Bev

Hi Bev!
Thanks for the advise. We are looking at various sites that advertise both holiday and long term lets. It's just been a little frustrating as properties we have enquired about are either already let, too expensive, or not available for the summer. We'll keep looking though, even if it means buying a static caravan!
Kind Regards, Sue.
