Default WHV visa - must he go to Sydney?

G'day Sarah!
My name is Marion and I'm looking for information about the WHV in France. I'm French and my boyfriend is Australian. He's planning to come to France in November with a working holiday visa. I found online a few things that I would like you to confirm:
- you HAVE TO go to Sydney for an appointment at the embassy.
- in Sydney they'll ask for all the paperwork
- which are: plane's tickets return, police check, a travel insurance, evidence of financial resources.

Is that all correct??? My boyfriend lives in Alice Springs. Is he obliged to go to Sydney? When applying, is it the only time they'll check his financial resources??

Thank you for your help much needed!!

Is this post directed at me :P ? Hi anyway !

Unfortunately all Australians have to travel to Sydney for the visa appointment, it's true :/ . There is no other option since at the consulate the applicants' fingerprints are digitally scanned. I have to go there from Melbourne soon, and even though it's not very far (around 1hr30 by plane), it's expensive since my husband is coming with me (not leaving him behind - he's never been to Sydney!).

All the documents/requirements for the WHV can be seen on this PDF:
http://www.ambafrance-au.org/IMG/pdf...e_visa_vvt.pdf

Yes, it's at the appointment that he'll need to provide proof of finances, and as you'll see on the PDF they seem to require a minimum of 2,100 euros. Here is the page specific to the WHV on the consulate's site:
Working Holiday Visa (General Information) - La France en Australie
I assume that the details are up to date and correct but, not having applied for the visa myself, I cannot be 100% sure.

Well at first we'll be in Centre, Orleans, spending time with my partner's parents, but then we'll be moving to the city he decides to study in, so far it could be anywhere...Grenoble, Strasbourg, Annecy (mainly Central/Eastern France), but there are a lot of options.
We'd love to meet some other Franco-Australian couples, that would be great , maybe we could keep in touch and hopefully meet up if we live close

Definitely!!! I'm new on this forum so I'm not really sure how to "save your profile" somewhere, do you have any clue? Should we exchange our email adress, than delete the message so no one could see it? Or is there another nicest way of doing it?

You're almost at the point where you can use the private message system with Sarah to exchange messages on the forum here. That way you can exchange e-mails with no fears of getting trawled.
Cheers,
Bev
