What sort of schools? Private, public? What age or subject matter?
Cheers,
Bev

Yes- are you talking about schools geared to the international/expat community?

International schools for primary age children. We have two. And thank you Emily that post. It helps a lot.

I can tell you more about my perspectives of all 3, but as my children haven't actually attended yet, it will just be opinions. You know how it is with schools- what one person loves, another will hate. But we felt the most comfortable at ISL as it seemed the most like the Montessori style we were accustomed to in the US. Ombrosa is gorgeous, but more formal. CSI isn't in a great part of town, and has a kind of gritty feel about it, but has a great reputation. The kids all seemed really cheerful and happy there too (as they did at ISL). Have you been over to pick a house yet? We toured schools and homes all in 4 days- it was a stressful whirlwind with a 6 month old baby in tow!!

No, we have not looked at homes. They are only talking about the move at husbands work. They suggested we look into the schools though. We have no idea when although my husband will be making a visit soon.

My husband's company talked about it for 3 years before we moved- hopefully yours will do better, LOL! It has been really hard getting everything done (paperwork is insane, and we had tons of help) but I think it will all be worth it. Moving itself was much harder than we expected- so many logistics you don't think of- like the timing of selling all your stuff, when to pack, where to live in temp housing, moving pets if you have them, etc. Lyon is nice though- MUCH more family friendly than Paris, although far fewer people speak English here.
