Default 3G or Wifi USB Key

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a decent prepay 3G or wifi to access the internet on the go?

I do a lot of my work at George Pompidou library, and need a good internet connection for my work.

I've checked out Orange prices and I find them very expensive.

Any recommendations anyone?

Thanks

I used a Bouygues 3G key for a few months, can't remember how much it costed but it was cheaper than Orange. I've been looking into it again recently and came across this website, it is useful for making comparisons:
Clé 3G, le comparatif des forfaits et clés 3G avec ou sans abonnement!

Hello,

There is a good alternative system to 3G or WiFi USB key, it's your mobile phone... an option called thethering can be very useful if you have an unlimited contract as the Free offer (19,99€ or even 15,99€ if you are a Free customer), the B&YOU (Bouygues Telecom's web brand for 19,99€) or even the Sosh (Orange's web brand for 24,90€, a bit more expensive but have an option of unlimited texts included when out of France in Europe). The first two has 3 Go of internet acces which is quite good and Sosh has only 2 Go but you can still go over that limit with a limited speed access to the net. So the idea is to use your mobile contract to connect your computer in WiFi to your mobile with the tethering option. I have to mention that not all mobile can have this option but if you are under Android, Windows Phone and most recent mobile phone, it should be included.

I hope this helps you.

BTW, forgive my terrible english as I did not practice for a long time...

Take care,

D.

Just using my 3G key now for the first time!

It is SFR, and I was told by the shop which sold all brands that this was the cheapest, and the one with the best coverage.

I too had looked at Orange and thought it expensive, and they tried to tie me into a monthly contract, even though I had expressly said that was not what I wanted

I bought it yesterday, at a cost of 49euros.

With that I get 3 days unlimited use free, after that I can buy vouchers to top up, bit like pay as you go.

I was told that it is not expensive to run on an hourly basis, but only time will confirm that!

Just one word of warning.

I tried to install it on my main computer which is a UK model Sony and it would not accept it. ( I have had difficulties installing other things on the Sony)

Tried it on the HP laptop and we were away in seconds!

3rd day of using the 3G, not overly impressed, it keeps losing signal, and my laptop is very slow when using it.

It is not the area, if I use the WIFI in the cafe, 250 metres away, function and speed is much better
