I hope that one of you will be able to help with this situation. Surely I'm not the only person who has faced something like it.

In June, my family will be moving to France for two years. How do we purchase airfare when we are unsure of our specific return date and it's two years out? One way tickets are ridiculous, and it seems silly to book a round trip with a dummy date to be changed later. How does one handle this situation?

Depending on how important it is that u fly in style.. There's a no frills airline that has pretty decent one way deals. Xl airways france. We just flew to France for 400 in July which I'd say is pretty good.
There are only a few of the 'big' travel search sites that include them in their search- we bought ours on cheapoair as buying on their own site is a pain.

Hope that helps

Are you not planning on returning at all to the US? Not for vacations or anything? Because rather than use your ultimate return date, if you used the first of your "visits" back to the US as your return date for your flights, it might work out for you.
Cheers,
Bev

One ways are very expensive. Most people buy a round trip and never use the return portion.
