Thought I'd best post my first Post by introducing myself...
Am looking to move to Northern France this year due to business within The Channel Islands...Hoping to find lots of useful info here & make some contacts.

Northern France is big - where are you going to be based ? Going back and forth to the Channel Islands from France is sometimes not easy - Saint Malo seems to be the only place with regular crossings via Condor Ferries and Dinard Airport does provide air connections.

I don't know what exists these days between Cherbourg and the Channel Islands.
