Default Adult Whooping cough immunisation in Paris

Hi is there a clinic for immunisation in Paris? We are about to welcome a new-born and we both want to have a jab against whooping cough (pertussis) and the latest Flu-shot. Anyone know if there is such a clinic in inner Paris? ie Arron 1 to 8.

The main "clinic" for immunisations in Paris is the Air France travel center: Centre de santé - Spécialiste de Centre de santé à Paris

The whooping cough vaccine (coqueluche in French) is normally given in combination with other vaccines like diphtheria, tetanus and polio - and sometimes hep B and a couple others.

Otherwise, you can go to a GP and ask for a prescription for the immunisations you want. You fill the prescription at the pharmacy and then either bring the stuff back to the doctor to inject, or find a nurse in private practice to "do the deed" for you.
Cheers,
Bev

You don't need to go to a clinic for vacination. All doctors do give vacinations.( just take your baby to your regular doctor) Normalement dès 2 mois, le bébé peut être vacciné. 3 injections à 1 mois d'intervalle sont réalisées, suivies d'un premier rappel vers 16-18 mois et d'un second vers 11-13 ans.

Allo Allo, Hello ello....Sorry couldn't resist the pun "'Allo 'Allo! is a British sitcom broadcast on BBC One from 1982 to 1992 comprising eighty-five episodes. The story is set up in a small town café in Nazi-occupied France during World War II. It is a parody of another BBC programme, the wartime drama Secret Army."

Actually the vacines are for us the parents not the baby so we can delay as long as possible giving the child any artificial stress until their brain has developed enough to cope with the vacines (yes I know it's controversial but this is not the forum for that, just FYI).

Thanks Bev for info, will check it out.

Would not recommend whooping cough immunisation during pregnancy. Vaccine known to be causing side effects.

WHooping cough for adults is extremely rare, why bother. The child will be innoculated,

WHooping cough for adults is extremely rare [wrong] , why bother. The child will be [baby will not be] innoculated,
Sorry you didn't fully read the question. Also you have some important facts wrong:

Adult whooping cough (pertussis) is under-reported, with many adult cases going unrecognised and frequently mis-diagnosed as upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, and allergies. There has been an upward trend in the whooping cough (pertussis) attack rate and a major contributor to this increase is in adults.

Immunity from childhood vaccination wanes 5 to 10 years after the last dose (usually given at 4 to 6 years of age), with efficacy of the vaccine falling from 100% in the first year following vaccination to 46% in the seventh year. Since no booster for whooping cough (pertussis) is given beyond the age of 6 years, virtually all adolescents and adults are susceptible and can pass it on to children and babies who have yet to be vaccinated "innoculated".

One thing you will discover in France is that there are often very different attitudes toward vaccination and other medical routines from wherever you may be from. Best thing is to go in to see a GP (or the Air France vaccination clinic) and see what they have to say on the issue.

The work doctor here was after me for a long time to get a tetanus booster. When I finally asked my GP about it, she said that tetanus here is normally given with a polio booster (which I didn't want - for reasons I won't go into here). It took her a while to find the simple tetanus shot to prescribe for me, but ultimately that's what I got.
Cheers,
Bev
