Hi!

You may have heard of the stirr in France considering the French Health system and the qualification of Exptats.

At present, do not believe all what is said - it is imprecise. In many points no final decision ( what in France you would call final ) has really been taken.
At present we are waiting for a press commnication resulting to an Health Ministry internal meeting held middle of the week - and even that will be incomplete, because there was still no decision taken on those who " accidentally " let into the French system.

But , and this probably your case in 2010, if you then have a British State pension ( just one member of your couple if you are married, there will be no problem for both of you for the CMU de base ( Couverture Maladie Universelle ).

The system if too complex to describe here in short - But you will require a " complémentaire " to cover the remaining costs. It can cost up to Euro 60 per month, per person ( just minimum coverage ).

Yours,

giantpanda
