Default US Educator moving to France

Good morning. I am an experienced teacher currently living and working in the US Virgin Islands. I hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education and am certified to teach Kindergarten to 8th grade (5yrs old to 13years old). I am married to a French citizen and we have two children, 3yrs old and 12 years old.

Our situation here is changing due to the island's major employer (and oil refinery) closing down....and there is a strong possibility that we will need to leave our island.

We are looking into the possibility of moving to France to raise our girls. I realize with my very limited French skills, I will need to find an international school that does instruction in English. I have found several in the southern regions of France but am hoping some of you will be able to provide a few more. Also, our 12 year old will probably need to attend the same school due to her limited French.

My husband is a boat captain with previous experience in aviation, mechanics, and construction. Currently he is a small business owner and operator.

Any leads for openings or information on such a school would be greatly appreciated.

Yvonne

Default Bordeaux

Check out the Montessori school in Bordeaux (Google Montessori/Bordeaux). It's an international school, and of course Bordeaux has the sea, Thales, and various other things going on that might suit your husband.

Good luck!

Default Not Montessori trained

Thank you for your suggestion. However, I am not Montessori trained. I'm currently teaching 5th graders (10-11 years old) all primary subjects.

We are leaning more toward Toulouse to Montpellier just because we have a few friends in that region. But of course, we are open to where the work is....

Thanks again for the suggestion.
