Looking at Moving to South of France

Hi

New to the forum but wanted to know if anybody could help with some guidance.

Me and my husband would like to move aboard over the next few years, i prefer france (south) due to the fact that im 1/2 french and over my childhood years spent every summer in brittany with my family so i would say i have medium conversational french, my husband on the other hand can't speak a word. I am a PA but am willing to re-train if it is possible to do the move. We want to be somewhere that is not too far of a drive from the coast and generally gets good weather most of year, well lets say the sun is out rather than grey skys in the UK.

does anybody have any websites that i can visit that might assist with where is the best place to go, recruitment companies for international companies.

Hi!

If you are dependant on work income, I would suggest that you only consider to move to France when you have a permanent job .

i.e. not a CDD ( contrat à durée déterminée ) but a CDI ( Contrat à durée indéterminée ) and that after the trial period.

It was already very difficult for French to find new jobs, for foreignors all the more so to get a decent job ( something where you get more than the RMI). Any in the near future, it is going to be much more difficult. Possibly you will have to target foreign firms.

Further the job will probably be determining on the place you live in, so it is preferable not to put the cart before the horse.
