Default Advice sought for PO Box in Paris

Hi,just wondering if anyone can offer some advice on where to get a post office box in Paris. It seems most post offices (at La Poste) only provide PO Boxes for businesses or professionals not individuals (particulier). My local post office here in Paris even told me I needed to receive 150 pieces of mail a year to qualify.

It need one because we are renting an apartment for a year but the apartment's mailbox has been reserved by the owner (not perfect - which we didn't know about before we rented it).

There are services, I know that scan your mail and send it to you but this is not what I would like. I have been told about a service even La Poste offers but my local office doesn't seem to know about it.

Does anyone have any suggestions or an internet link to a private service - they must be out there?

Thanks in advance

You could use the Poste Restante service at the Post Office (Poste Restante – Toutes les offres – Envoyer du courrier – Particulier – La Poste).

You choose the Post Office that you wish to use and only pay for mail you collect (0.60 centimes letters, 0.30 for magazines etc). Not cheap but if you don't have lots of mail it could be a convenient solution.

Default PO Box question

Hi Peter,

Just wondering if you managed to work out a solution to your PO Box question?

I have just moved to Paris and have encountered a similar problem with my apartment - the owner has the key to the apartment's mailbox and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get it from them anytime soon.

Did you have any luck with La Poste?

Thanks, in advance, for you help!

Cheers

Ellia
