I am an American expat who has recently moved to Lyon with my wife, who has taken a Post-Doctoral position at a local university.

I am also looking to work, but have difficulty since I am not fluent in French. I am currently taking evening classes at the Alliance Française, and am supplementing those classes with the Rosetta Stone computer language training. However, it will be some time before I will be fluent enough to perform adequately in a completely French speaking work environment.

I am curious if anyone knows of any companies in the area which may be hiring employees for English language positions?

I am not searching for a strict set of positions, as my previous work experience runs the gamut from Bartender, to Information Technology Support, to Purchasing Agent Assistant for the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. I am skilled in many areas and m a quick learner at just about any task or duty given to me.

I have also spent a majority of my adult life as an artist which has granted me the chance to do art and design by commission. This has included artwork for musicians, as well as descriptive technical drawings for submission to the U.S. Patent Office.

As the spouse of a visiting researcher, I am in in possession of the Scientist Spouse Carte de Sejour, which allows me the immediate right to work in France.
