Having just 5 minutes before got a PM from KS calling me S2, I was beginning to think it was some sort of joke I wasn't in on!

frogblogger,

Outstanding photo but the girls look Chinese instead of Thai. What kind of camera/lens are you using? You've got to be a pro! If not, you missed your calling. Did you use Photoshop or other software?

And following on from the young Thai dancers, at the same street festival, one of the displays...

Plastic? Paper? ....
No, this exquisite centre piece made for a Thai dancing performance during the Sunday Market in Chiang Mai was made from various fruits and vegetables - chillies, water melons, carrots, etc ...

Can you imagine anything like that being prepared for a one-off street show in the West?

Cheers S2, there are a lot of Chinese in Thailand, isn't one of the Thai gripes that they have most of the money?!

I use a Nikon D2X, aging a bit now but a good camera. No Photoshop. Hardly a pro, but if I take a few hundred pics I end up getting lucky eventually!

frogblogger,

The Chinese DO have most of the money in Thailand, that's for sure!

So you're driving a full frame D2x. What lens are you using? Perhaps a Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.2 AiS? It must be a very good piece of glass as your shots are very sharp.

I was looking at a D700 to replace my Nikon F2AS but too heavy. Initially I was lusting over a D3X but too heavy and too expensive! Am going with a D90 instead at about 2/3 the weight of the D700. I would rather have a full frame instead of DX but cameras and lenses get heavy after lugging around for the day and I'm not getting any younger. I can only imagine humping up some mountains to visit hill tribes with my tongue handing out due to the extra weight. :/

Serendipity2

Sorry S2/KL/Frogy there I've said it.

Poor S2 can't carry a DX up mountains anymore and his F2AS is getting on a bit.....in Thailand we do NOT lust after D3Xs. We prefer the Ladies in Walking St and would NEVER settle for a D90 even for a short time......but we would certainly 'hump' them up Mountains. Whatever they weighed......The Ladies that is. OK, S2/KL/Frogy? Or whoever.......
