I really can not understand why people get upset about written mistakes in a casual communication such as a forum. If something does not make sense the first time it is read then a 2nd reading through at a slower pace should make it clearer. Sometimes when thinking and typing at the same time it is easy to make a mistake, there for their, he's for his, in the grand scale of things does it really matter. Typing errors happens all the time and the spell check on this forum is the pitts I never use it so quite often make mistakes but really if peeps have half a brain they should be able to understand what I am saying.

I ask people to use paragraphs, because it makes long posts almost impossible to read. And we had someone once who capitalized every word, which had the same effect.

I also sometimes warn people who are looking for work that everything they write might be seen by a potential employer or contact. A badly written post might mean that someone doesn't bother to mention a company that is hiring, because they assume the poster would be rejected because of their poor grammar and writing skills.

I also read my posts after I have posted and then edit the typing errors. It is so easy and quick to do. I can't see the problem. I wish other forums had the option to edit once posted rather than having to ask the moderator.

There are spelling and other types of errors in books, and they are proofread over and over by multiple people. I have always found it hard to see my own mistakes, as I tend to see what I intended to write, rather than what actually got entered. Also, I´ve noticed that I´ll change a sentence to make it read more smoothly and not notice that I¨ve mixed singulars and plurals or tenses or something.

The idea of the forum is to share information, and things that interfere with that are problems. If people are totally careless about what they write, that is one thing, since it hinders communication. But someone recently criticized a poster for starting a sentence with the word 'so'. That´s a bit much, especially when you hit a first time poster.

Also, some of us sometimes are in foreign countries and using unfamiliar keyboards, as I am now. It's difficult when the apostrophe is in a differen place, and I get the French Ç when I hit what I expect to be the shift key.

oddball, just be glad I'm not enforcing grammar and coherent writing rules.

The rest of you, oddball is often best digested with a shaker full of salt. He loves to stir the pot.
