Jo, Egypt is quite a liberal in Islamic terms country but we do have alot of censorship.
The newspapers print President Mubarak telephoned so and so to wish him well after his operation, this is to fill the newspaper up nothing else. Journalist are often imprisoned here and my friends are always agog that I can say... " Tony Blair is an idiot and can be shot", and even more so that I can say it in a public place.

Because normally level minded and logical people are going to be driven towards facist elements as a vote against what Britain has turned into.

This lunatic fringe (cos that's what the BNP are) will seize on all the frustrations of people and tailor their "policies" accordingly. And to be honest....who can blame them when there is no other option available?

Blair did it.....and very successfully too. He took the anger at the years of Tory mismanagement and laid out his sales pitch to hit the right buttons. In doing so he destroyed the Socialist movement.....Aneurin Bevan must be turning in his grave!

There has a been a calculated and very deliberate (but unwritten) agenda over the last ten years to socially engineer a multicultural Britain. Take in every disenfranchised waif and stray, throw money at them, and effectively create their own electorate to ensure they remain in power.

The result of this is what we see happening today in Britain......normal people being driven towards extreme political elements.

Its got so out of control now, all the noisy minorities have clubbed together and are almost running the country and they're doing it badly cos all their agendas are getting in the way of whats good for the country, the people and its economy!

I think what strikes me most tho, is that it feels such an unhappy, miserable country! Its not just the weather, its everything! This unhappiness is festering and bubbling under the surface and I think there's eventually gonna be one hellova civil war over there!

For now tho, it seems to be turning into a third world country, a role reversal!

I didn't see the programme so I don't know about that, but I so agree with Jo in what she says above. Perhaps it depends where you go in the UK, but when I go back (south west sea side town) it's DISMAL and the people are DISMAL and the atmosphere is, you've guessed it...!!

I do agree with you regarding free speech but I think to use it in the same "conversation" as the BNP is a bit of a "contradiction of terms" !
Not sure you'd get much free speech if the BNP get their way !

hhhmmm, I was white until I moved to spain and now I seem to be rather brown (too much time sunbathing lol)!!!! So I guess they wouldnt want me on their side then!

Seriously tho, I'm not a political animal - cos from what I can see they're all the same shade of grey and all sycophants - and BTW I dont care what colour of skin, eyes, hair, knickers.......... people have as long as they're kind and honest!
