It doesn't float everyone's boat but if you enjoy it you can exercise for four hours in an evening and not even notice because you're having so much fun

I only hope I can keep up my current level of activity when I move to UAE in three weeks...
I have lost 2 lbs in the last four days (two 30 min. dance sessions). I have not changed my diet at all. I just decided I wanted to learn to dance and get into shape.

I've always been over weight, and I fear diets because of the repercussions of under eating. A few years back I was starving myself to the point that I honestly did not feel hungry anymore. It all started as an innocent diet, but ended with a case of anorexia. Just be careful you don't over do it when you start cutting entire food groups out of your diet. Your body needs all the food groups, you just have to make sure you're not going overboard with any of them.

Hi Karen,
i have just recently joined to this forum, hope you are on the fit and healthy track already?
I am Health Coach, Personal Trainer and Nutritionist and years of experience thaught me that it is all about goal setting, planning, reassessing your goals every 2-3 months and finding that-drive which is unique for each and every one of us. It is all about working towards your goal but on the way you like, with a variety of different activities and healthy food.
And it doesn't have to be a boring gym (even i agree!)
Weather outside is beautiful, most of my clients are doing boxing exercise or circuits on the beach, powerwalking, running, swimming and they love it!
So you just need to find exercise you enjoy and do it 5-6 days a week for an hour!
If you sweat, it means it is working and if you keep it up you will soon see the results! Walking is something we should all do on daily basis, especially as the weather is cooler, but only walking won't burn those calories!
And of course,a healthy diet is extremly important!

Hope i didn't bore you too much, wish you a happy training!:-)

Angelica

Hey there,
A good tip is to avoid white foods, these are processed more than wholemeal and will contain more carbs especially white bread. Portion size is also important, get rid of the big plates and use small plates it just helps you think that the plate is full rather than lost on a big plate!!

Also exercise is the key, you have to do at least 30 mins of exercise each day and always take the stairs rather than the lift!
Good luck
