Default visit visa rules $ canadians in UAE 1jan 09

Fellow Canadians ,Please note- Its a ""been there done that situation"" so I know.
1.Canadian citizens get 30 day free visa on arrival anywhere in UAE airports, land borders. This comes with a 10 day grace period before a penalty of 100Dhs (33 US$) /day is imposed for each day over stayed.
2.The visa can be extended within for Dhs 500 or an immediate exit/rentry will get another 30 days (Fly neighbouring countries for 600-1000 Dhs return) or go to Oman by road for dhs 100 return fare.
3.There is no limit to the number of times one can enter the country in a year.
The above info is confirmed by Immigration official at phone + 971 4 3980000.
However ,rules always are subject to change,so best to call up the number or visit a consulate/embassy.
Bon Voyage !!

Firstly the fine is AED200 for the first day, AED100 for each day thereafter and there is no 10 day grace period.

The grace period is at the end of your second 30 day visit visa, and it's AED620 to add a further 30 days (making a total of 100 days).

Officially you then have to leave the country for 30 days, HOWEVER this doesn't always happen, but you should be aware that this could happen.
