The pizza price is atrocious.
The swimming club, how many lessons per month?
The doctor's fee, the less said the better....

I have lived in El Gouna which is a private upmarket town owned by Orascom on the Red Sea coast north of Hurghada for seven years. Prices have risen a lot since I arrived. Property probably by four times. Restaurants are expensive whereas a fillet steak used to cost LE40-45 is now LE90-120.

I live alone in a small apartment and the total running cost per year including electricity, water, maintenance, garbage collection, irrigation of communial areas, security, pest control, TV, etc. etc. is GBP450 per year approximately. I only use air conditioning if the temperature is above 38 degrees and never have it on all night as I have windows on three sides and a beautiful breeze. The cost of running a big villa in El Gouna with swimming pool and garden to irrigate and a.c. running all the time is probably what I pay per year they can pay per month.

The cost of Sakara beer in bars and restaurants is typically around LE25. A glass of wine is from LE25 and in the five star hotels LE57!!

Found a 200gm jar of squeezy marmite in the mini market the other day. It was LE64 Beware imported goods!

I have two cats and a medium bag of dry Meow Mix LE32 and large bag LE60 and Whiskas pouches are LE7 each. Cat litter is around LE99 for a large box/bag. A vet costs LE100 to come out and visit from Hurghada 24km away and inspect my cats. Treatment extra.

Scuba diving is typically €60 for tourists but residents usually pay around €25-30 for a two tank day boat. Cheaper in Hurghada but take care with the dive center.

I take salsa dance lessons twice a week cost LE40 per hour. Privately run acqua aerobics, pilates, yoga classes are around LE50 per hour.

I don't have a car as I can walk easily to shops and restaurants. Tok toks are LE5 per person around El Gouna and taxis LE15 up to four people. A taxi from Hurghada to El Gouna LE30-50 but with El Gouna limousine going to Hurghada LE120 and takes 30 minutes.

That leaves the swimming lessons then, to be honest for that price I would want Ian Thorpe to teach me how to swim never mind an egyptian swimming pool.....

Off the top of my head, I'd say around thirty something each, they do take a generous service charge on the bill too.
But it was a damn good salad/pizza.

Their cakes, all well over LE 100, are heavenly.
