I thought that was how all tires are repaired (minus a few steps), auger the hole round and an adhesive applied to the plug before it's pushed thru.

No, the right way is to let it be fixed from inside. This is more work because the guy has to remove the tyre from the rim. That's why he likes the method with the needle and the strand of rubber/metal?.

he overall index of food prices went up by 1 percent last week, said Osama Sultan of the Federation of Egypt Chambers of Commerce (FECC).

“Prices of rice went up 14 percent, and poultry 15 percent,” he noted.

Yasser al-Shazly, an economic researcher, attributed the rise in poultry prices to a rise in the price of feed, and to bad weather conditions.

An FECC report said several medications have also gone up in price due to the dollar rising by 12 percent against the Egyptian pound, which affects the cost of imported raw material.

The report added that there is a shortage of 100 types of medicines.

The price of local fava beans went up from LE9 to LE10 per kilo, and of imported fava beans from LE5 to LE6 per kilo, while the average price of sugar rose from LE0.50 to LE0.60.

Packaged tea prices went up 5 percent, and prices of detergents and pesticides rose 6 percent.

Our double glazing guy came to take measures last week, today he called to say he wanted 10% more "because of the dollar"

I love this, thank you so much... I am new here to Egypt (just been here about 3 months) I've been trying to calculate what will it cost me to be comfortable...live a quality of life. I'm 43, 1 child (21 years old) who lives in the states. ... and I'm looking to get re-married, anyone have any advice on that please share! I do not have an expat package but do work for a school.

The cost of living of is entirely depend on one's lifestyle. Another one thing worth to point out is a lower cost of living country not necessarily mean that you spend less from your home country because as an expat your expenditure is different from the local.
