Default At Least Dick Turpin Wore A Mask

My family flew to Dubai from the UK last week with me.

They all got a visa on arrival (ok, only 30 days now, but at least no fee)

I went to the Naturalization & Residency Dept today, and what a shock I was in for.

1st. Typing for the application form for the visas - Dhs 780

2nd. Fee for the visas - Dhs 1560

3rd. Fee for my labour contract to be attested - Dhs 130

4th. Fee for application for change from visit visa to residence - Dhs 1710

To cap it all, the visas that my wife (yes I know she needs a medical before her full visa will be issued), and my 2 children were issued, even though they state residence on the top, are only valid for 3 months.

I still have to pay for her medical and another Dhs 300 each for the visas to become full residency visas (and no doubt more typing fees).

Be warned if you need visas...............it's gonna cost you

Tell me about it! I can't believe it cost more than £100.00 to TYPE it out, wowsers!! We're really fortunate all visa related costs go through the company otherwise HOLY CRAP! I've had 3 visitor visa's issued with 2 extensions and should now be applying for the long awaited Residence visa.

I'm so glad I left you all my booze before I left Dubai, Ogri......looks like you'll need a wee dram or ten to get over the shock!!

Regards to *S* and the kids.
