Default Discussion on the new visa rules.

I have a question.

If I am an Australian resident, who has friends who want to come and visit + stay at my place, are they able to do so?

From what I understand, tourists visiting the UAE are only allowed into the country provided that their hotel sponsors them.

But I'm the hotel! And Expats are NOT allowed to sponsor friends!

Can someone tell me how my friends are meant to come and visit me on their way through?

I believe that those rules only apply to residents of countries who had to apply for a visit visa originally.(which does NOT include Oz)
Those coming from Oz, still get a visa on arrival (though there may now be the 100 dh fee??)
Coming from Oz, they should get a 30 day visa.

Im still a little hazy on the rules too, but hope to learn more soon.
