Default If you had 30,000$ and 3 months...

If you had 30,000$ spare change and 3 months of completely free time, after which you had to take on a full time job...

What would YOU do...

Thanks for your input.

(For the curious: I've just been made redundant and got a good exit package, found another job which starts in 3 months.)

I would personally pay of any debt , and then put away as much as possible after paying bills.

I would pay off my debts and then take a well deserved holiday. If there was anything left, I figure that I'd just make the bank manager happy and put it in a savings account (for a rainy day!!).

You're saying 30k in spare change? what proportion would that be of your long term savings/retirement plan? I'm assuming you already have managed to secure some if you consider this a spare change.

Depends on your thinking; investment for short/long term or spend the bonus on something you like. Could be a few expensive activities that you never did. i.e. learning to fly an airplane, buying a small boat, travel and visit places that you've never seen before.
Dump a small % of that to charity? it all depends on you want to do or what makes you happy.

The main question is what would "YOU" do.
If I had that as a spare change and not for investment purposes, I would carefully plan a 1-2 months exotic trip to places that I've never thought I would visit because of time or money limitations. You have the time and the money.
