Default Help with insurance exclusion

Hello everybody!!
Still at home but my husband is already there, started working 2 weeks ago!
He received the medical insurance card and the guide for pharmacies, clinics and hospitals, i've been reading it and when i got to the list of exclusions this one left me like this !!!! Well Baby Clinic and Baby Supplies
Taking the risk of being called dumb i don't know what a Well Baby Clinic is...
Here i take my 3 year old and 7 month old twins to the pediatrician for routine consults, is it the same?? Sometimes language, or many times, is a barrier...
can anyone help me ?
Thanks in advance

Sorry, but your question is not clear. Is that Well Baby Clinic in capital letters (with an address perhaps) referring to a specific place or a general exclusion on the contract.

Many company sponsored policies have a large number of exclusions in order to keep the cost down for the employer.

Hello Elphaba
Thank you for your answer! It doesn't refer to a specific place, i think it's a general exclusion.
I don't know what is a "Well Baby Clinic"...did some research on the web and lots of clinics appeared, with several pediatric specialities.
Does this mean that the insurance only covers the doctor's appointments in case of sudden ilness and not the routine check ups for babies??
Thanks

Hi Tuga,
I'm a doctor (the tag's a bit of a giveaway) and I've just recently started work here. I've found that most local health insurance policies will only cover illness. They tend to exclude screening (e.g well woman checks and smears, child health checks and immunisations, getting your cholesterol measured etc etc). Without wishing to state the obvious, some clinics/hospitals are cheaper than others, so you'll have to shop around for a doctor you're happy with and fits your budget. I'm not a paediatrician but I know the paeds clinic at the American Hospital provides a great service although it ain't cheap.
Hope that helps.
Jon

It sounds as if that may be the case. Hard to say without seeing the policy schedule. I suspect the employer has selected a simple plan in order to reduce their costs. I suggest you speak to the HR department for clarity.

Hello Doctorjon & welcome.

Quite a few plans, albeit of a more comprehansive nature, will include health screenings etc, but in many cases people have company sponsored cover and the employer will have set up more basic plans for lower premiums.

There are some excellent clinics in Dubai and I can personally recommend GMC and Infinity.

Oh & when it comes to both medical insurance and medical care, price should not be the only consideration, as I am sure you will agree.
