Default advise on tuition fees on school

I am in Dubai right now to finalize my contract as well as look for schools. I will consider myself lucky since I made a lot of progress on both the fronts. I was able to secure admission for both my kids and the school have given me until 5th of July to deposit the first installment. In addition they have said that they need two post dated cheques by the end of August.

I do not have a signed offer in hand so I do not want to commit such a huge amount of fees. At the same time I do not want to lose a spot. Any suggestions on what I can do?

As far as I know, I cannot open a bank account unless I have residence. I have asked them for the wire instructions details so that I can wire the first installment. In addition I am trying to push the company to finalise the offer but Dubai does not work that fast !!!!

Some banks will allow you to open accounts without residency..you just wont be given a cheque book or credit ( its generally just an account with ATM card)

Not a good position to be in, contract wise.
Is there a reason its taking so long...hate to see you pay the money and contract details change (etc)

Keep pushing the company, as schools finished today, and most wil only have skeleton staff on for over part of the holidays, so you need to get this sorted.

And, yes, if not paid up, you will certainly lose your place if someone else comes along who can pay everything upfront.

If you contact HSBC, they may be able to open an account for you. I know they open accounts for people still waiting for their residence visas. Problem may be though, you are still awaiting your contract.

I got sent 2 credit cards whilst still waiting for my visa
