Default The move is on, but act fast.

Just had 4 days on a fact finding mission, two of which was spent looking at 3 bed houses / villas. In that brief time we had seen enough to persuade us to move. We looked at Springs, Lakes and AR, all in all about 15 properties, at some there were people queing up waiting for us coming out. Even though the rent is high there appears to be plenty of people on the lookout. If you find a good one it maybe wise to get it signed up, we did. All were in the region of 230K to 260K. Look beyond the constuction we were told and you'll enjoy the lifestyle. It was a hectic 4 days but we had seen enough to 'sign up'. Golf lessons now I think

This are areas that you can say outside of central Dubai but very close at the same time. Also the metro will be very close.I have a conserne regarding the changes that are being done in the Springs and Lake areas regarding future traffic , so we will have to see what impact that will have on this 2 communities

Hi Spurdog,
Glad your quick trip worked out well for you!

Re : housing...people arrive and leave Dubai at an amazing rate each week.
Some of those lining up to view the properties may have been looking as their leases were up and rent went up (AGAIN)
Did you check your lease very carefully?? (ie maitenence charges, was it a non renewable lease etc)

sgilli, lease signed for two years, if we do need to move after the two years at least we will be out there looking with more time on our hands.

Lenotchka, properties are newer (so I believe) and looked to be fitted out better (kitchen & bathrooms). Managed to get one over looking a lake and the community pool area looked very good and clean. There are major roadworks out there but I'm told they should be completed in the Autumn. Not to say the Springs are any less appealing if you managed to look at the right one.
We had the services of a local company who took us around the areas for two days, picked up and dropped off at the hotel and all viewings were organised in advance. Well worth the money if you only have a few days.
