compensation package

Hola,

My boyfriend finally got his compensation package and I would like to know what you experienced members of this forum think. I believe is good money but I have also read so much about Dubai being so expensive that I would very much appreciate your thoughts on this.

This is in US Dollars and what he is being offered is $120,000 USD a year and this includes the housing allowance. No car. This is for a high level position with lots of responsability for managing all the operations of a british company in the region.

USD 120k pa is AED 36,800 pm. A decent salary, but again it depends on what your outgoings are likely to be. If you get a 2 bed apartment with a rent of AED140k pa, you 'll be comfortably off.

One big issue is that you said he is your boyfriend. If you are unmarried he cannot sponsor you, so unless you find a full time position you will not get residency. It is also illegal to live together.
