Hello & welcome.

Advice? For the first few weeks, make sure you have loads of passport photos as you'll need then for residency visa, driving licence etc. Make sure your employer allows you time to sort out these matters.

Get a map & get your bearing around the city.

As for meeting people, go to bars and you will often find friendly people to chat too. Ther are also numerous sports clubs etc. Get yourself a copy of Time Out when you land (new every Wednesday) and see what is on.

Come back here too, as I hope to arrange a get together in the latter part of April.

Oh, and don't forget to have fun!

We are also in Dubai (we have a construction company)
We are from Oz.

As Elphaba said...make sure you have lots of passport photos, and have all of you certificates attested in your home country before you arrive (saves having to send them back...ie wedding certificate, degrees etc)

Arm yourself with a map ,and get out and about...roads are scary, but you will find yourself out and about..best to do this before you start work.

Have you got all your housing sorted out?

Good luck with the move

Hello Everybody one more time.
Thanks for the replys.

The company will pay in full for the housing, car, petrol, utilities and when i take my family (possible after inicial fase) the total school fees for my two kids.
They also cover medical and anual trips for the family.
I will receive part of the salary in Dubai and the rest back home.
My Salary net will be 28500Dhs Monthly. I will receive localy 5065 Dhs and the rest back home.
So i will only have to pay the food and personal items or leasure.
Is this enough 5065 Dhs for tha this basic items?

I think it is a good package.

Thanks for yours opinions.

Hope to get quickly installed.

Yes the housing is the resposibility of the company. Please see added remarks.
