Gay Internet Activity

Newbie here with a question. I am gay, and my company has offered me a short-term position starting at the end of September and I have the choice of a few countries, one of which is Dubai. It's the only one I haven't been to before, and I'd like to know as much as possible before I make my final decision.

I have researched the posts here about gay activities in the country, as well as blocked sites, however I couldn't find anything about IM conversations, board postings, and email. Obviously these sorts of things are not supposed to be monitored, but I am aware how strict the country's policy on homosexuality is, and I'd like to know if anyone has ever heard of people getting into trouble for their internet activity.

I'm in an LTR so I don't have to worry about cruising sites, but I'll be away from home for three months so my partner and I would like to be able to keep in... contact!

e mails are obviously private as is MSN, wouldn't worry too much, but remember that homosexuality/lesbianism is illegal.
