Can anyone recommend social groups, sports club etc - been living in dubai for 7 weeks and finding it difficult to get into social activities - any help greatly appreciated.

sometimes, there are some weekend plans organized here... mainly boozing at clubs/bars tho. If you fancy something like sports, etc there are some football groups here that play regularly.

Go and buy a copy of Time Out. There is masses of info in there about all sorts of events on across town.
