Hello Guys,

My name is Sam and I presently a UK based nurse, I have been offered a job at Al Rahba hospital. I will be moving with my hubby and eventually our 2 jack russells.
I am just wondering where would be best place to live in dubai (cos its cheaper!) for commuting to the hospital.

Cheers Sam x

Al Rahba is between Dubai and Abu Dhabi so....... my suggestion would be you would want to live around Discovery Gardens (inexpensive), The Greens (a little more expensive) or the Marina (more expensive). The drive every day would be ~45 min each way, so I hope you will have a car.

Remember, UAE is not particularly dog friendly (no dog parks, etc) and I would wonder whether you would or could have 2 Jack's in an apartment. Just something to consider.

(PS - I had to look up Al Rahba as I did recognize the name as a hospital here in Dubai. I am a US nurse working here in Dubai)

Thanks for the advice. How do you find nursing in Dubai?

Since I am not a staff nurse, I don't think I really have enough insight to comment (I am a Clinical Nurse Educator). Most staff positions are non-Western and Westerners make up most of the management. I have only been back to Dubai for a month, so maybe in a month or 2 I can give a more intelligent response! ;-)
