Default Specialisation on Degree

Hi Guys,

Wonder if any of you might be able to help with this one, its quite an odd one!

My wife and children are due to come out to Dubai next month and as she is a primary school teacher, she thought she might try and get some work. She has sent her CV to a number of schools and has had several replies.

The problem is that when discussing over the phone with one of the schools, she mentioned that her Bachelor of Education also stated that she had a specialisation in religious education. The person on the phone said that as a result she wouldnt be able to work in Dubai as the mention of religious education on her degree would effectively make it so she cannot submit it to the authorities.

Does anyone know if this is true? Seems very strange to me, but having said that it wouldn't surprise me. The thing is she probably knows a lot more about Islam than the average expat getting off the plane and would therefore be more understanding and respectful of the Muslim culture and religion than most.

Seems such a shame that she will not be able to work as she well qualified and has good experience.

Any comments gratefully received.

Thanks

DC
