Default Still on the hunt for jobs - still in the UK

Firstly, the site is looking MUCH better. Well done to the admins.

Now, Ive been a regular on here before but stopped using the site as I felt really depressed about not finding a suitable job in the uae. This was some time ago (around a year) and since then I have made good craeer progression in the UK. I am now motivated to look for a job again but am STILL finding it NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to find a site or recruiter that can help.

I am an IT Security professional and work for a large company in the UK As a Senior Security consultant. I have about 4-5 years worth of experience under my belt and feel that someone should recognise me by now - i hope !

So, can someone please give me a some advice on this? Recruiters or sites would be very useful too. Sites like bayt dot com have been of no used to me - not even one interest.

Thanks people

Nudda,

I dont know if you realise but people of your calibre are 10 a penny in the UAE due to the influx of people with your skills from developing countries who work for what is for us a pittance.

Good luck on finding something tho, maybe things will improve if this credit crunch ever gets sorted out.

thanks for your reply

I appreciate the developing countries are churning out security professionals but they cannot be compared to my self (in my eyes). There are many reason but the main one I see is that I have got qualifications at the highest level from the best place to do information security ... 99% of them would not have. Surely its not PURE experience and knowledge ... companies want someone with integrity ?

What does he specialise in, if you dont mind me asking ? I totally understand about the crap salaries etc ... and the packages are no longer including accomodation etc which is a real drag.

Will def. stay in touch to let you know whats happening.

Couldn't agree more. India would be the best example in this case. And mind you, they have good experience from top notch IT companies as well as formal education (Masters, PHDs, Certifications) on top of it.

Also, if you're applying from UK, the probability of getting an interview call is less. Applicants who are currently in the currently are given preferences to avoid relocation costs.

I think you may find it difficult finding jobs from the UK.

I am in the IT sector but a different area, I came over in January and found that it wasnt easy there are not that many jobs out there. there is light at the end of the tunnel and I have had interviews and got very close with a few. I have secured a job though.

forget Bayt and other sites they are pritty useless alot of jobs dont even exist.

I know of two recruitment companies whom were particularly helpful. If you PM me your details or CV I will send these onto my contacts.

I would recommend that you plan a holiday here were you also have some interviews lined up.
