Default Hello All

I've enjoyed reading this forum over the past couple of weeks. It has tons of good info for newcomers to Dubai.

I accepted a job offer in Dubai and I'm now awaiting the employment visa. I've read a few threads with people's experience in terms of how long they've had to wait for the visa to be processed and it seems to take 3 to 4 weeks on average. Today makes it 4 weeks for me since the visa was applied for.

I'm trying to gauge when I should start worrying. I've been in good contact with the firm the whole time and they tell me it is taking longer than usual but is in process...They give me the impression they're on top of it.

Is there anyone else on the forum who had to wait more than 4 weeks and has received the visa, and if so, how long before receiving a response from immigration?

Thanks in advance for any info.

yes. me. took them 6 weeks. and this was a jebel ali free zone visa, where they are supposed to process them even "faster"!

is usual that these things take 4 up to 6 weeks (and more than that if you are unlucky or ramadan got in the way), but still keep pestering your employee in any chance you've got.

I hate the "visa limbo"!

The Freezone can be very quick, got my employment visa in 3 days, and then residence visa within 48hrs.
