Default Driving from Dubai to Mafraq?

Hi all, I have been living in Dubai for 7 years and was offered a post at Mafraq Hospital starting from 2nd of September. They will give me Accommodation money with the job so I'm facing a dilemma now. Should I move to Abu Dhabi to make my everyday drive to work short? or Should I live in Dubai marina or greens and commute everyday to Mafraq so as not to lose the social life of Dubai? I hope you can offer me some advice on that from your experiences and if there are people currently commuting that distance let me know as well.. Maybe finding a commuting partner will make things a tad easier.. Any help will be appreciated

I am part of the construction team currently building the new hospital at Mafraq. I live in Dubai and commute everyday, as do 70% of the construction team.

From the marina it would take you about 50 mins, so very doable. One of my mates lives in the marina so I am pretty confident about the time it takes

Thanks for your reply, 50 mins sounds doable but the thing Im scared about the most is having that time double in case of an accident which I think takes place quite often as I have heard.. If alot of people live there and there are groups that go, I think that would make it much much easier.. Im still pondering the situation to be honest though..

Accidents tend to be on Wed because that is start of saudis weekend and they are doing their mad dash to Dubai, or Thursday when all of abu dhabi seems to think there is something they just cant live without seeing is going on during every weekend. And those two days, if you tend to get to leave work around five, you will get to miss some of those large accidents, they tend to happen after six on the dxb-ad highway.
