Ow do,

Just a quick one. How often do people tend to go home for visits? Ive noticed the flight charges to the UK are quite reasonable if booked in advance.

Is it unrealistic to say Id pop home for a few days every 3 months or so.

Obviously this would all have to be fitted in around work commitments. Are employers flexible with taking holidays as they are in the UK. Or do you take holidays when your told to?

Cheers.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

I'm planning on doing something similar myself. I plan on taking a couple of days tied to the weekend to maximise the time every 2 months. Flights from to/from the UK are quite cheap and with the weakened pound you can make that go even further.

How realistic that will be for you to do is dependent on your boss and your work commitments at the time, but if you plan ahead and keep your boss in the loop I'm sure it won't be too much of a problem.

Check your employment contract first regards to leave. There are some companies who will want you to complete 12 months before allowing paid leave. The same applies to the flights home paid for by the company.

I'm not saying this is the case for all companies, but check first.
