Default Leaving company with out cancel visa

Hi if anyone can advise me,
I am currently on a contract that is due to end next week, but I am due to travel to next country next week, the company isn't continuing the contract.
My issue is if I give them my passport to cancel my visa may not receive my passport back in time for my flight to the next country.
What will happen to me ? What can I do ?

Thanks for any advice

If you leave without it getting cancelled properly - you will not be able to enter the country again until it is resolved. This is a HUGE hassle - trust me. I was refused entry to the UAE for nearly a month due to this.

Cancel your flight and wait for the visa to be cancelled properly.

That is, unless you never ever want to come back to this place.
