Thanks to the IT guru. Thanks crazy it worked. Another question for the Guru, my laptop has a monitor problem I was told to take it to Plugins at Festival as it is a Toshiba and needs to be worked on by toshiba tech. I'm really struggling without this contact.

Not too sure on the repair infrastructure. It's repairable if they have the parts but usually because it's a quite expensive part they just write the whole thing off and give you a replacement. If it's still under warranty that's what is most likely.

Before you send it anywhere make sure you back up anything important on your hard-drive if you can still operate it.

Alternatively you could buy/borrow a monitor and plug it into the external monitor slot (most if not all laptops have one) and then use it like a quasi-desktop. At least that will give you the option of backing important stuff up before you send it for repair.
