Hiring a car may be your only option, you can only purchase once you have your residency visa and uae drivers licence

Rent. Personally, I think until you can pay cash for a car don't buy one. No debt is good debt in the UAE.

yes I saw that, that's why I thought of selling mine ( NAG 1 ) to the same people, if they got excited by AB11 DHB (!?!) spelling Abu Dhabi. which it doesn't, I thought NAG 1 would put them thru the roof! well, the horse lovers amongst them anyway. Apparently MIK legal arranged the sale but haven't replied to my email I sent. I'll look at dubizzle, souk only allow UAE items and bazaar doesn't seem to post via the mobile phone. But thanks for all your suggestions keep 'em coming if you have ideas
