Default Hi newbie really need some advice/guidance.

Hello All. Im a newbie , my name is Lisa.
I hope this doesn' t come across as long winded but we would really appreciate as much input/info as poss.
We are seriously thinking of relocating to Cyprus , this has been a thought for almost 7 years now , right now its an almost definate.
We need suggestions on areas to relocate too ,preferbly a British expat community ,our reasons being we have a child with disibilitites especially in speech and language yes we as a family are prepared to learn greek our child will never be able too, we need him to be around english speaking persons . I was many many years ago posted to cyprus (a military background) and have had several holidays there since. We just want somewhere , where there is a strong British connection but also the choices for our other children and ourselves to become fully integrated in the community.
I dont want this to sound as though we want to move from England to England with sunshine ,but more about being around ex pats for strong reasons.
The upheavel for our disabled child is going to be astronomical but we need to get it right .
We are not kidding ourselves that it is not going to be difficult / hard and life changing but if we can move somewhere so worth while as easily as possible for him then we are half way there.
Thankyou for reading this.
Also can i just ask if the international school if anyone would know has facilities for special needs ?
Thanks once again.

Default relocation

hi

you are definitely making the right decision to move here!! i live in limassol and there are various villages around here with a strong ex pat community. Erimi is a `british` dominated village with a strong focus around the aphrodite social club where families meet up. i myself work at the Heritage Private School (it has a website) and am head of the special needs. We take special needs children and some of the children have a 1-1 minder (a small fee paid by the parents) who we then hope to reduce time as the child becomes more integrated within the classroom. The school has children of all nationalities but they all must speak english in school. Greek is compulsory in schools in cyprus but at the heritage some children are exempt and instead receive extra lessons in areas that they are falling behind in. hope this is of some help. please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
max

Thankyou so much maximax00 for your prompt response.
It was very informative.
My son has autism but is verbal ,just slightly delayed in speech, language and social skills but interacts perfectly with other children. Currently here in England he is statemented into a special needs school (our choice) but the school you mention sounds ideal to address his needs.
Im about to check out those areas you mentioned as well as your school .
Thankyou once again i have tons of questions for you if you dont mind answering them ?
Much appreciated.
Lisa.

No ,your school website is currently "down" i will have to just be patient lol.
Also we have been looking at properties available to rent or buy in the Erimi area and they seem few and far between.
If you know of any good reputable property sites we would be very grateful (again) .

Thanks Max.
Mainly our Q's are our about our son and how would he cope in a school such as your's ?Would he be accepted due to his diagnosis of autism ?
Any idea of the fees plus for the extra one on one teaching?
We haven't been able to find much property info on Erimi , what other villages /towns around there should we take a look at ?
Thanks again , much appreciated.
