Question NURSERIES in the Paphos area

Hi we are hoping someone can give us some advice or their knowledge of nursery schools in the Paphos area and surrounding areas. We (my husband and our two and a half year old) are seriously considering a move from the UK to cyprus either late this year or early 2008. My husband and I are going out in September to have a look around, leaving our daughter with her nanny making it easier for us to look around etc. etc. My daughter is in nursery here in the UK for two days a week and I would very much like to continue this when / if we move to cyprus. The cost here for nursery is very very expensive £38 for the day. Does anyone know of the cost of a nursery in Cyprus or could point me in a good direction. I have tried to do a web search but with no joy. Hope to hear from someone soon. Lisa, Mark & Millie

Thanks for your reply Bernie, have had a look on the website for the Int. School of Paphos. You say it is £125 a month. Is that cypriot pounds or english pounds? Is that price based on a full time basis? Regards, Lisa

Did you ever consider hiring a babysitter or a stay-at-home nanny? They may be cheaper then sending your child off to a nursery.

The only problem I feel with that is that millie will not have the interaction with other children. I am just hoping that upon our visiting cyprus next month for a look around, we find that nursery is not as expensive as here in england. Thanks for your reply. Lisa

Nicollette,
Thanks for the reply. My husband and I have just returned from our trip to cyprus. It was fantastic and we have put a deposit down on our beautiful house in Kermares. We viewed a nursery (newly built) in Chlorakas and it was great. Exactly the same security aspects as in england, won't just let anyone in. The manager gladly showed us all around and it was great. She gave me lots of information and they also have a timetable to follow which includes from 8.30 till 9.30 prayer lesson (my husband and i are not religious people but i have no objection whatsoever to millie having a prayer lesson). the price was 70 cyp per month based on 5 days a week from 7 till 1, 80 cyp per month based on 5 days a week from 7 till 3 and 90cyp per month based on 5 days a week from 7 till 5.30pm. Meals are included except for the all day one and then you have to provide an afternoon snack. On my workings out that is 3.50cyp per day based on the 7 till 1 times, amazing i pay £36.10 per day for millie at her current nursery. We were over the moon with what we saw. I said to my husband even if we couldn' get millie in to that particular nursery i am more than content with what i have seen and am 100% positive that other nurseries in our area would be just as good. Any information that i can help you with just let me know. Regards, Lisa
