Yes, we found 'Cyprus Time' stressful at the start but we are beginning to realise that life is just too short to stress about time... whatever it is, it always seems to happen ...sometime! Just not when you planned it!

We had a bet going in the family today. The man laying our stamped concrete said on Friday that he would do it this morning. I said he would, the husband said next week and the daughter tomorrow.... I won! According to our neighbour he was there bright and early at 7am this morning!

Living in Cyprus has become my dream which is why I am selling everything and buying in Peyia to try it. My answer is like some of yours - if it don't work or my dream is not how I imagined it then I will come back to UK but I gotta try it to find out. I will always regret not trying. I know its not going to be plane sailing so I am trying to be realistic about the whole move. I also know I've got to slow down and be patient getting things done. So lets hope I will be as happy as some of you guys that are already living the dream?

Reading your advice, listening to my parents,as with other countries, be patient, slow down, dont expect anything......NOW!
Surely this is the life we want.....seek? So go with the flow.
I realise, that when you have children,commitments, change of career...then you need to be sure, with this site, I do believe that the "ones that have" will help us, "the ones that havent" ......(YET!)

If it is of any consulation I love it in Cyprus and fell in love with my appartment the first time I saw it. My next visit I will spend 10,000 GBP doing it out and my hot-tub should be installed by the time I get there. I have worked overseas most of my life plus 21 years military service and currently work in Kazakhstan and in the process of getting divorced after 30 years. Am I happy ...yes and Cyprus was the best move I ever made.....go for it.... I am not a bad bloke but when I write on this forum I like to bring a bit of humour and annoy (in a nice way) so having said that, am I still on for that Sunday roast??

I'm no pensioner!!!!!! you should be blocked for thinking such a thing. So now you are totally barred from the hot tub (but not the kitchen). I have a good 9 years yet until I retire and I can still boogy in the night clubs and show the girls a good time. Being ex military I still have that killer instinct so be careful what you say. I will be over at the end of August as I need to kit my apartment out with everything from a washing machine to a tin opener. The hot tub should be installed when I arrive. So I am looking for an electrical shop in the Larnaca area if you know of one where I can buy most of the stuff at the same time. If your around you can help carry it for me as you are so young!!!!!
Also, calling all readers where can I buy bedding for a king size bed with a valance etc Will M&S do them in Nicosia???? otherwise I will have to find someone to keep me warm at night (although I prefer the bedding)

Any help with the best stores would be great.
All have a nice day in Cyprus and save some Keo beer for me (not bothered about the water)

Budding Romance....I will see how much she can carry first and what her cooking is like. She needs to open Keo bottles quickly, know what channel the football is on and at what time and be able to get my fishing gear ready with a flask and a fresh salad.
She also needs to be able to cut my toe nails as I cant drink and watch foofball and cut nails at the same time. I like a women who is tidy and one who carries the ironboard on her back and is always ready to please her man.

Why do women marry in white??? because all kitchen appliances are white.

Why do women have small feet????? so they can stand nearer to the sink.

Please , please ladies dont complain its the Cyprus air that makes me say romantic things. I love you all...especially during the cricket season when I am bored. Unfortunately, I need to get out more (as one reader said) but I cant. The women chase me and rip my clothes off and offer me ll sorts of things, including marriage. Dont you just love Cyprus!!!!
