Default Help with medication costs ?

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if you can receive help with medication costs if you are over 60 ? Also what about your E111 ? Would that help with costs ?
Any info on this would greatly appreciated.
PS I have All ready been on Cyprus Bill to check out costs, unfortunately not all the meds are on it. And know info on help.

Thanks

If you are receiving UK retirement pension you need to register at the local hospital. You will get medications on prescription from the hospital at €2 per prescription.
You may find that if you are on regular meds they are not available here but there will be alternatives in most cases.

I forgot to say, a pensioner living permanently in Cyprus needs an E121 not an E111. That is only for tourists.
You should have applied for your EHIC (european health insurance card)

Good morning,
As of 1 May 2010, new regulations on European social security coordination entered into force, Form S1 (replacing E106, E109, E120 and E121) and it is used to register for state health care here . This form is obtained from International Pension Centre (IPC) in Newcastle. ( they do have a website) The EHIC card should only be used as a temporary measure and is designed for travellers and visitors and not for permanent residents. ( I assume you have your 'yellow residents slip' ?). If you are in receipt of a UK state pension you will receive medication free from a hospital pharmacy, if they are available. Some medications are not available on the state system and you will need to buy there from a pharmacy. ( the name of the medication may not be what you are used to, so check the active ingredients and ask for the guidance notes to be in English). Once you get your S1 down load the necessary form from the Cypriot Department of Health website ( there is an English version) and take it to the Citizens Service centre, with a copy of your passport, a copy of your residents permit and the original form S1, you will eventually get a Cypriot Health Card which will get you on to the state system.
Kind regards
