Smile 10 reasons why not to move to Cyrus??

Hello everybody,
we are very new on this forum and read a lot of your other entries.
At the moment we live in Cape Town SA and are thinking of moving closer to Europe again.
We, that is husband Henning and myself and our twin daughters (14)
At the moment we run a guesthouse and self catering apartments here and would like to carry on with self catering in Cyrus.
How does one go about buying these units or are little resorts for sale?
Are there lots of individual travellers in Cyrus?
My husband will go and a look and see mission in April. Can you recommend an agent in the Pathos area? We would also not really like to buy in a new development but rather something older with more character.
What are the worst things about living in Cyrpus (in South africa it would be crime, currency restrictions, etc)
Even if you can just answer one of the questions above, we would be really greatful.
How much does a family need to live on with two cars, enjoying a "good" livestyle, school (how much is the international school per year in Pathos and is it good)
Thanks and regards from a sunny Cape town
Gudi

Hi Gudi, I'm no expert, but the best advise coming from most respondents is to research, research, research on all aspects before moving to Cyprus. Quite surprising the other day a friend who had spent a year and a half in Cyprus; said remember its only an island and can be restrictive. As for agents we went through an agent and whilst I wouldn't personally recommend them they found what we wanted, a stone build villa. In retrospect it would have been better if we had visited under our own steam and allowed ourselves more than the three days we had. There is a recommended site ~ fitzgeraldcyprus.com which we have found to be very informative and that may be a starter for ten for you. Other than finding work (I'm an ex police officer) I cannot see any other issue that would put me off eventually moving. The sooner the better as Cyprus is a wonderful country with alot to offer, especially for the out doors type.
Andrea and I are back over the first week in May and again in July, so if you would like to keep in touch please do so. Kind Regards Chris
