Smile Forms and Formalities

Hi,

We have been coming to Cyprus for many years and are finally taking the plunge. Our house is on the market and we have some short term accommodation available near Polis.

We are planning to bring our furniture and cars, has anyone any experience of this and the paperwork needed. We would hate to have it all confiscated on the dockside because we missed something.

Pam n Dave.

Hi, we moved out to Cyprus over 2 years ago now and shipped a lot of our belongings out. We used a international company who dealt with all the paperwork both ends there was no hassle at all.

Warm regards
Debbie

Hi, We are moving to Paphos (we have purchased a property) but are having trouble selling the uk one! We have had a quote from a large international removal firm, they say they do all the paperwork which will help a lot. We have friends in cyprus who have advised us not to bring a car - something about import duty - told us to get one out there. Do not know how right this all is, but it might be worth you checking it out - cypriot embassy? London or Nicosia. Good luck Dee.

Thanks for the help so far, it's looking easier (and cheaper) than I thought for the transport but am getting mixed messages about the customs attitude to bringing the cars.

Hi
I wanted to reply to your posting. I am an investor myself and am now working for a Cypriot developer based in North London. The company is so professional and their developments are top quality. We even have a 2 bed show flat in the office. We are very choosy about where we buy and dont develop in those busy tourist areas.
If you would like to chat maybe I can help you please call me on 07973 292142 or 0208 447 8314
Lok forward to hearing from you Caroline

Does anyone know if it would help to get a lawyer? Is it worth it? The lawyer could help with all the forms, paperwork, and red tape, right?
