Default How much will it really cost?

Hello

I am trying to find out how much a 2 bed House/Appartment will cost to buy or long term let? The area I am looking at is in or around Nicosia, as this is where my partners work will be.

I have looked at many sites on the net, but the vast majority of those are for holiday homes or short term hoilday lets. We would want to let something for around 6 months to dicide that Cyprus is right then buy a house if all go's well. The web gives loads of info from developers, showing property's being built in the future, but I would really like to know real prices from real people.

Will it be a problem renting if I bring my cat with me? Property must have a pool.

Any info will be gratefully received

Jon

Thanks Tricia

The more I look at Cyprus the more I like it. One more thing If I may be so bold, I would like to be able to bring my TV over with me. Would you happen to know if it will be posible to have it converted to run on the local power supply. I know that the lastest TV's are available on the Island, but this one is my pride a joy, I dust it 3 days a day, and it cost me 2 arms and 1 leg to buy.

Many Thanks for the Info

Why not look in the Turkish part of the city - Lefkosa. You can get a great 3 bedroomed apartment of about 135m2 for about £300 per month. In addition no problem travelling across border with EU passport. Know many who work in the South but live in the North as so much cheaper.

Hi there new tv,s seem to be ok lots have taken them over . some times if they need repaired parts are not so easy to but this is getting better .
so if you are shipping over it other things its worth it . some say dont bother with freezers they dont travel well. and the ones in Cyprus are best suited to the heat in Summer.Hope you are abl to find what and where you want.
If you have a sky box take that as well. you can keep a address in uk and use the sky card or you can just go free veiw as i do need my soaps in the sun.

Thanks for replying guys.

Have'nt given the Northern side much thought, as I was not sure what crossing the border every day be like, but will definately consider it as a option. I suppose if the rents are much lower then so should the over all house prices.

The only worry about living on the Turkish side is, Turkey is not part of the EU, so would it be harder to apply for residenty, etc?

Cheers
Jon

Everone to there own. Things are not so easy to sort out there. but if you want to be somewhere you try to sort it just be very aware what you are getting into.Ilove the south and a lower price would not temp me but we all want differnt things.
