The only worry about living on the Turkish side is, Turkey is not part of the EU, so would it be harder to apply for residenty, etc?

Cheers

1000' cross into the South each day to work so not an issue - they either walk over at Ledra Palace crossing or drive over so that is not an issue.

Property in lefkosa is much cheaper and before the Greek Cyps kick off there are plenty of pre 74 Turkish title properties available there.

Don't worry about residence as very simple - go to Police and fill in the forms - they give you medical chit - go to clinic (many around) X ray of chest and blood test - wait about 10 days pick up medical result - back to police then to Civil immigration who will issue permit. simple and easy now.

Well thanks guy's it is something to think about, there is so much that I have'nt even considered yet. I have not been to the north before, or even been to Turkey. My love is the Greek way of life and the people, although I am sure that the people from Turkey and the north are nice to.

I love spending my time in Greece, we co-own a vllia on Cephalonia which we will be poping out to this year around Apr and again in Sept. Unfortunatly I wont be able to come out to Cyprus this year, as I am getting married, and money is a little short. That will be taking place in July on Santorini, so you can tell I like Greece. If it was not for the fact that my partner can't find work on Cephalonia, I would be living there now.

Cyprus seems to offer it all, work and the way of life that we love so much.

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice.
Jon

1000's cross each day by foot or even drive across in their cars - so not an issue.

It is far cheaper in the North and you can buy a 135m2 3 bedroom apartment in Lefkosa for about £60,000 on Pre 1974 Turkish Title.

Getting resident permit is easy and you just renew each year - all it takes initially is visit to Police - medical (Chest xray and blood test) - then to civil immigration.
